Karthik Ekadashi

importance

Dev Diwali

Karthik Ekadashi is considered highly auspicious as it falls on the eleventh day of the Hindu month of Karthik (October-November). It is believed to be the day when Lord Vishnu wakes up from his four-month-long slumber (Chaturmas) and brings prosperity and happiness to devotees.

Karthik Ekadashi is also known as Dev Diwali, as it is celebrated with great enthusiasm and grandeur. Devotees light thousands of oil lamps and candles around the temple and along the banks of the Chandrabhaga River, creating a mesmerizing spectacle of lights.
