Srila Prabhupada about Annadaan
The illustrious founder-acharya of the International Society for Krishna Consciousness, emphasized the importance of Anna Dan.
He once said, “No one within ten miles of our temple should go hungry… We should see that no one is hungry within a ten-mile radius of our temple.“

Gau Seva
- The cow is believed to be the abode of 33 crore (330 million) deities. Scriptures like the Vedas, Puranas, and Smritis emphasize cow protection and worship.
- Krishna’s love for cows in Vrindavan sets an example of divine service and compassion.
- Atharva Veda: “The one who serves the cow receives divine blessings and wealth.”
- Mahabharata: “One who protects cows earns the merit of performing a hundred Ashwamedha Yajnas.”
- Bhagavad Gita: Krishna says, “Among cows, I am Kamadhenu” (symbolizing divine abundance).
Diety Seva
- Hinduism believes in Ishwara (Supreme God) manifesting in many forms to guide devotees on different paths of devotion.
- Worshiping deities helps one connect with the divine and progress spiritually.
- Puja (Daily Ritual Worship) – Offering flowers, incense, lamps (Deepa), food (Naivedyam), and prayers.
- Abhishekam (Holy Bathing of Deities) – Using milk, water, honey, and sacred substances.
- Bhajans & Kirtans – Singing devotional songs glorifying deities.
- Japa & Meditation – Chanting divine names (like Om Namah Shivaya, Hare Krishna) and meditating.
Preaching Seva
In Hindu Dharma, preaching Seva (Dharmic Prachar Seva) refers to the selfless service of spreading spiritual knowledge, wisdom, and values to uplift individuals and society.
- Conducting Kirtans, Bhajans, and Pravachans (spiritual talks).

Ekadashi Seva
Ekadashi is one of the most spiritually significant days in Hinduism, observed twice a month. It is considered a highly auspicious day dedicated to Lord Vishnu, promoting spiritual discipline, fasting, and devotion.
- Ekadashi is known as “Hari Vasara” – the day of Lord Vishnu. Fasting and prayers on this day bring His divine blessings.
- Observing Ekadashi strengthens devotion (Bhakti) and helps control desires, anger, and negative tendencies.
- The Padma Purana and Skanda Purana emphasize the greatness of Ekadashi fasting and its benefits in attaining Vishnu’s grace.
